FEEL FREE T@ BE is a project cofunded by the European REC Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme

It aims to contribute to increasing the psycho-physical well-being of the LGBT + population through:

  • the development of a training model, divided into modules, on LGBT + issues dedicated to public psycho-social health workers
  • the provision of 280 hours of training to at least 300 public psycho-social health workers
  • the creation of an awareness campaign on LGBT + issues
  • the promotion of the replicability of the training model and its institutionalization among policy makers

 

The main project activities:

  • In-depth survey on the training needs of the psycho-socio-health operators of public services (direct recipients of the intervention) and the needs of LGBT + people (final beneficiaries of the project)
  • Development of a training model divided into modules concerning various aspects of LGBT + issues
  • Provision of 8 training courses for psycho-socio-health workers employed in public services such as:
  • social workers
  • medical staff (doctors, nurses, 118 operators, trainees)
  • psychologists, psychotherapists
  • first aid operators (triage operators, persons in charge of collecting initial contact data with patients)
  • Promotion of the training model through advocacy activities
  • Implementation of an awareness campaign on LGBT + issues

PARTNERSHIP

 

LAZIOcrea SpA. (Project Leader) Established pursuant to Regional Law 11/24/2014, n. 12 - is an in-house company of the Lazio Region, with 1560 employees, responsible for providing the Lazio Region with support activities, including:

  • Support the integration and health and social training of the Lazio Region, research and innovation, schools and universities, Directorates for the Right to Education in carrying out activities in the public health and training sectors respectively;
  • Provide services and monitoring activities in the field of social policies;
  • Provide management (including accounting) and control services related to EU OPs;
  • Cover the function of Technical Coordination Center for directly managed EU funds;

Furthermore, LAZIOcrea has activated the procedure to be formally recognized as a provider of ECM credits.

 

CIRSES Center for Initiative and Research on the Educational and Scientific System APS. It was established in October 1980 and its main purpose is the study of education and training systems in Italy and in Europe. In its 40 years of activity, CIRSES has developed numerous initiatives, researches and projects. In the last 15 years it has turned its attention to some social issues that are intertwined with educational and training courses such as: gender differences and sexist stereotypes in the tools and teaching of education and training courses; the enhancement of LGBT + diversity at school and in the world of work, the fight against discrimination and violence linked to gender and sexual orientation.

 

New European Association for Arts Therapies (NAT) . It was established in 2008 with the aim of promoting the quality of life of the individual, the couple, the family and the group through training, scientific research and prevention activities in particular through the use and development of arts therapies which they are posed and proposed as mediative and transformative paths in educational (school) rehabilitation (prisons) therapeutic interventions (health and integrative contexts, interculture and integration).

 

ISTITUTO METAFORA Center for Research and Therapy of the Family, Child and Adolescent . The Institute, founded in Bari in 1983 by Pasquale Chianura, carries out didactic-training activities (recognized by the MIUR) and research and clinical activities. In the area of gender identity and its variances, METAFORA works and has worked over the years, proposing clinical, training and research activities. Among the most important activities there is the one carried out at the Adjustment Service between Physical Identity and Psychic Identity - SAIFIP, established in 1992 at the Complex Structure of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the AO San Camillo-Forlanini in Rome as a consultancy service and support for people with "Gender Dysphoria" who intend to request medical-surgical rectification and gender attribution registry, according to law n.164 of 1982 and regional law n.59 of 1990 which identifies in this hospital the reference center for Lazio.

 

UNAR National Office against Racial Discrimination . The Office for the Promotion of Equal Treatment and the Removal of Discrimination Based on Race or Ethnic Origin is the office appointed by the Italian State to guarantee the right to equal treatment of all persons, regardless of ethnic or racial origin, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or the fact that they are persons with disabilities. UNAR was established in 2003 (legislative decree n.215 / 2003) following a community directive (n.2000 / 43 / EC), which requires each Member State to activate a body specifically dedicated to counteracting forms of discrimination. In particular, UNAR is responsible for monitoring causes and phenomena related to all types of discrimination, studying possible solutions, promoting a culture of respect for human rights and equal opportunities and providing concrete assistance to victims.

 

Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale "Mario Mieli". It is a voluntary association, registered in the Lazio Region Register, founded in 1983. It operates in the social field and in the field of civil rights. It promotes actions to combat all forms of discrimination and carries out cultural and socialization activities. The "Mario Mieli" Club offers a series of social services and activities: psychological counseling, telephone counseling through the Rainbow Line (toll-free number 800 11 06 11), HIV test, rapid HIV test, self-help groups for people with HIV, Legal advice office. For several years the Circolo Mario Mieli has been carrying out interventions on: combating bullying; sexuality and affectivity; STI health and prevention. It proposes and carries out projects in various fields, with the support and collaboration of various institutions: Higher Institute of Health, Ministry of Health, Lazio Region, Province of Rome, Municipality of Rome, Spallanzani Institute, San Gallicano Institute, San Giovanni Hospital.

 

A.Ge.DO. Association of parents, relatives and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people, + It is a non-profit voluntary organization (ONLUS), founded in 1992, which offers solidarity against the inconvenience caused from the refusal of LGBT people inside and outside families, it intervenes in situations of social emergency and offers itself as an interlocutor in the fight against discrimination. AGEDO has its national headquarters in Turin and autonomous offices in many Italian cities. It deals with: prevention of discomfort (offers free counseling and reception services in support of homosexuals and their families and relatives); culture, research and training. AGEDO is part of the Fonags - National Forum of School Parents, established at the MIUR and, with its territorial offices, of numerous regional Forags (Regional Forum of School Parents).

SAIFIP - Adjustment Service between Physical Identity and Psychic Identity, established in 1992 at the San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital, Department of Plastic / Reconstructive Surgery, has been carrying out support activities for years for trans people who wish to use medical and surgical tools to adapt their one's physical identity to the psychic one.

 

Libellula Volunteer Association

Voluntary association founded in 1998, aims to support transsexual and transgender people in all areas of their existence, in particular in the assessment of the conditions for transition, in the process of identity adaptation and in issues of social inclusion (including access to the world of work, housing, services). Libellula represents the Trans reality at national level (collaborating with other bodies including ONIG) and aims to promote a wider knowledge (also in terms of training) of the Trans specificities and to contribute to the creation of a more advanced regulatory system relating to equality rights, civil liberties, self-determination of Trans people.

 

Rainbow Families - Homosexual Parents Association

Rainbow Families is an independent association founded in 2005, made up of homosexual or single couples who have realized (or aspire to realize) their parenting project. It fights all forms of discrimination and is committed to obtaining full recognition of homosexual parenting in the Italian legal system and society, promoting socio-political-cultural change / exchange and offering a safe place of welcome and support for homosexual parents in difficulty.

 

Di'Gay Project

 

Di'Gay Project is a non-profit association, founded in 2000, which aims to promote the rights of LGBT + people, stimulating dialogue and fighting all forms of discrimination through campaigns, voluntary projects, cooperation, solidarity actions and assistance to victims of discrimination.
