The CARE4Rainbow. Prendersi cura delle persone LGBTQIA+ project is an initiative funded by the Lazio Region that began in June 2023 and ended at the end of December 2024.
It aims to provide a range of support and accompaniment services for LGBTQIA+ people, aimed at expanding opportunities for social inclusion and strengthening support paths for people in a state of particular vulnerability/fragility and at risk of social marginalization.
CARE4Rainbow therefore offers a set of integrated paths aimed at preventing and removing any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, while providing concrete support interventions to people who are victims of such discrimination.
All the services are offered by the CARE4Rainbow project are provided by a partnership composed of 4 entities:
- Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale “Mario Mieli” APS (Progect's Coordinator)
- CIRSES Centro di Iniziativa e di Ricerca sul Sistema Educativo e Scientifico APS
- A BUON DIRITTO Onlus APS
- PER FORMARE S.r.l. Impresa Sociale
The actions implemented relate to 6 different areas, each of which is applied through the logic of territorial proximity and community proximity:

The psychological counseling service will be provided by psychologists/psychotherapists who are experts in the specific issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, deafness, HIV-induced seropositivity, differences, issues related to discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people and multiple discrimination. The service will offer a neutral, non-judgmental space to listen to, help and support LGBTQIA+ people who are victims of discrimination, even for multiple concomitant factors.

Housing Area
The service aims to accompany beneficiaries in the search for a housing solution that is suitable for their needs, to provide mediation between the real estate agency/owner and the person being assisted and to share information relating to the various aspects of living (deposit, rights and duties of the tenant, transfer of gas/electricity supplier contracts, etc.). Specifically, the counter operator will: 1) Accompany beneficiaries in the search for dignified housing solutions that meet individual needs through the various search engines active in the real estate sector; 2) Support beneficiaries in the first contact with the owner/real estate agent and, if necessary, accompany the person in visiting the apartment; 3) Prepare and share with beneficiaries materials containing all the useful and necessary information to activate a rental contract and begin a path to independent living.
